Bergen Flesland Air show August 28th 2005

Here are the pictures I took during the air show. Although we had very poor air show weather (gray and rainy), that did not ruin the pleasure of watching these great aircraft in action. We aren't exactly spoiled by air shows here in Norway, so to finally get to see the A-10 and the Frecce Tricolori in action was simply spectacular.

Some history about Bergen airport, Flesland

Bergen airport, Flesland was opened in 1955, with a 3000 meter runway, and since then it has been functioning as a combined civil and military airport. The building of the airport was financed by NATO, and throughout the years the airport has been frequently visited by the Royal Norwegian Air Force (RNoAF), as well as a variety of aircraft from our different NATO allies.

In addition to celebrating the 50th anniversary of Bergen airport, Flesland, the event also marks the 60 th anniversary for the ending of World War II, and last, but not least, it is 100 years since the dissolution of the Union between Norway and Sweden.
